Cold Connections 101: Byzantine Chain Bracelet

Step into our Steveston Village jewellery studio and create an intricate bracelet, woven together by metal jump rings. No soldering is needed in this class, as you focus on the basics of creating a Byzantine chain in the form of a bracelet. In this class, you will be working primarily in brass or copper with the addition of sterling silver accents.

    In this hands-on workshop, you’ll:
✨ Hand-Forming Jumprings: Master the technique of coiling and cutting your own custom jumprings from scratch.
✨ Correct Form: Understand the ideal Aspect Ratio, selecting the perfect gauge and diameter for a uniform chain. To create a seamless closure of your jump rings.
✨ Essential Skills: Practice foundational skills including sawing, forming, and final cleanup to ensure a professional finish.
✨ Finishing details: Find out different ways to finish your bracelet, from a soft brushed matte look to a rich, aged patina.

By the end of class, you’ll walk away with a classic Byzantine chain style that’s truly your own creation. Cut, formed, and woven by you!
