Sold out

One of the most essential yet challenging skills to master when it comes to jewellery making is soldering but like anything, practice makes perfect. This 8-week long program focuses mainly on repetitive soldering and different soldering techniques to help you get a solid grasp of this vital skill. In the first 4 weeks of the program, students will have the opportunity to design a 16” to 20” sterling silver chain link necklace with uniquely shaped links to practice wire manipulation, jump ring making, repetitive pick-soldering, and chain polishing. In the remaining 4 weeks, the students will design and create a pendant OR earrings that incorporate all of the following technical elements: Piercing, doming, sweat soldering, soldering a fine wire to a larger piece, utilizing different types of solder, and incorporating different textures and finishing techniques.

With small class sizes and the program spread out over eight classes, you will have the opportunity to have in-depth lessons and more one-on-one assistance.

All of the materials and equipment are provided for this class and no experience is necessary. Please wear close-toed shoes, comfortable clothes, your hair tied back and no scarves or loose clothing (such as long open sleeves that could pose a safety hazard).

Workshops will not run until sufficient enrollment has been met. We recommend students register at least 10 days before class start dates to avoid disappointment.

The more the merrier! Feel free to spread the word to friends and family as this helps ensure classes will fill to capacity.
